At the urging of Elsie N. Allen, wife of Kansas Governor, U.S. Senator, and newspaper owner Henry J. Allen, Frank Lloyd Wright (1869-1959) designed the couple's residence. Constructed of honey-colored brick with Carthage limestone trim and tan tile roofs, it is the last of Wright's Prairie residences. Wright also designed the furniture in collaboration with George Niedecken, which is on display in the house. Description from http://www.wichita.gov/Residents/History/ | ||||
