Home of William Lloyd Garrison (1805-1879), one of the most articulate and influential advocates of the abolitionist movement in the US. Through public lectures and editorials in his newspaper "Liberator," Garrison argued for immediate emancipation of slaves. Besides publishing his newspaper, Garrison also organized the New England Anti-Slavery Society in 1832 and helped to establish the American Anti-Slavery Society in Philadelphia a year later. | ||||
