It's correct name is "The James Roscoe Miller Campus". However I hadn't heard it called that until I read it in an historical article about the lakefill. The University bought 152 acres of Lake Michigan and filled in 74 of them leaving a large lagoon in the center. This allowed the campus to grow eastward. The Library, Norris Student Center, Pick Steiger Concert Hall and numerous other buildings were constructed on this new land since its completion in 1964. | ||||
